About
MELIA: Guitar-Driven Rock with Something to Say
MELIA is an award-winning independent rock guitarist, singer and songwriter known for raw, guitar-driven rock, powerful vocals and intensely personal songwriting.
Her latest album, Feral, released August 13, 2024, was recorded at Dreamland Recording Studio in Woodstock, New York with Grammy-winning producer Kevin Killen, whose credits include David Bowie, Peter Gabriel and U2. MELIA wrote the music and lyrics and performed the vocals and guitar parts on the album.
In 2026, Feral earned a Josie Music Awards nomination for Rock/Metal Album of the Year, while MELIA received an individual nomination for Musician of the Year — Guitar.
MELIA's recording career began with her debut EP, Soundproof Walls, followed by Skeletal Remains in 2015. Recorded at the legendary Magic Shop in New York City and also produced by Kevin Killen, Skeletal Remains marked the beginning of a creative partnership that would later continue with Feral.
Her work has also earned multiple Indie Music Channel Awards, including Best Female Rock Artist in 2012, 2013 and 2016, Best Rock Song for “Just A Bride” and “Charge Like A Bull,” and Song of the Year for “Just A Bride.”
A longtime guitarist, MELIA is an endorsed artist with PRS Guitars, ENGL Amps, GHS Strings, EMG Pickups, EarthQuaker Devices and Spectraflex.
Her connection to guitar began after seeing Green Day perform during the American Idiot tour. That experience sparked an obsession with the instrument and eventually led to forming her first band and writing and performing her own music. Years later, that connection came full circle when Billie Joe Armstrong chose MELIA from the audience to join Green Day onstage and perform “Jesus of Suburbia.”
Over the course of her career, MELIA has shared stages and bills with artists including The Offspring, Eve 6, Our Lady Peace, Walk The Moon, Steve Vai, Twenty One Pilots, Fuel, Sick Puppies, The Misfits, Lita Ford, Daughtry, Nita Strauss and Halestorm, among others.
Whether performing with her full band or in a stripped-down solo acoustic setting, MELIA brings the same guitar-driven identity and direct songwriting to the stage. She continues to perform, create and expand the audience for Feral and her catalog while developing the next chapter of her music.
